On Wednesday March 5th, Andrew started to severly vomit after each feeding... so when I thought he was becoming dehydrated, we took him to the PCH Emergency Room. After a long 7 hours in the ER, he was moved to the pediatric ward where I was COMPLETELY unimpressed --NOT A GOOD PLACE. On Thursday morning, he was released.
Thursday evening, the vomiting started again - so I took him to the pediatrician Friday morning where she ordered a GI test. Results -- Pyloric Stenosis. Remedy - Surgery.
After being sooo impressed with the stay at PCH, we opted to go to the ER in Roanoke and get him into surgery there. We arrived at 2:30pm, and after a wait of FIVE minutes, we were in and procedures began. 6:00pm - surgery began and we had our baby back by 8pm.
Hopefully we will get to go home tomorrow. Andrew is progressing and looking good!!!!
Thank God for modern medicine and a facility that actually treats patients with respect and dignity!
